Property Details

Trillium Hollow is a multigenerational, tranquil cohousing community of about 45 people on a forested 3.8 acres, in NW Portland, just a 15-min drive from downtown. Common bird sightings include chickadees, Oregon juncos, barred owls, flickers, pileated woodpeckers, and more. Mammal sightings include deer, coyote, rabbits, and the occasional (elusive) bobcat. Trillium is for nature lovers. A beautiful, natural light-filled 1411 sq ft, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, condominium is available for sale at $470,000. HOA dues are $609/month for 3 bedroom units (this fee includes all utilities). This is one of 29 units (of which only four are 3-bedrooms).

In case you are unfamiliar with cohousing, it can be described as intentionally designed community with ample common spaces, yet each household has their own fully functional, private space. At Trillium Hollow, owners also own the land and common spaces (i.e., 4800sq ft common house, gardens, woodshop, etc) in undivided interest. Cohousing is intended to be a collaborative way of living that fosters relationships among neighbors. Moreover, it decreases environmental impact by designing for lower energy use and sharing resources (e.g. garden tools).

Trillium Hollow was founded in the late 1990s by a group of Universal Unitarians (one of which is still here at 90 years young), though is a secular community. We have 9 teams that help run the community (e.g. landscape team, outreach team, etc). Members are encouraged to participate in a once monthly work party, engage in meetings (community operations), and attend social gatherings as their capacity allows. Per Oregon law, Trillium Hollow is an HOA, though the chosen governance method is consensus per the by-laws.

This particular unit has an open floor plan with many recent upgrades (2021), including a bespoke barn door, new washer/dryer, new heating pumps (for the radiant floor heating), new luxury vinyl floors throughout most of the unit, and new trim. The renovated kitchen includes slate tile floor, new cabinets, and new countertops. The unit has large windows that create a bright home with views of the back slope (off the back deck), which fills in with amazing greenery in the spring and summer and has yearlong bird visitors.

- One of the precious shared resources at Trillium Hollow is a 4800sq ft common house. This is a space for dining together weekly, meetings, resting, entertaining, and hosting your guests (2-3 guest bedrooms are available depending on how you count them), & more.
